Motorola Unveils Edge 50 Phones with Cutting-edge Displays & New Earbuds
Motorola has officially launched the Edge 50 lineup worldwide, following the earlier India-only release of the Edge 50 Pro. The series includes three models: the Edge 50 Fusion, Edge 50 Pro, and the top-of-the-line Edge 50 Ultra. While details on availability of the Fusion and Ultra in India are yet to be revealed, Motorola also unveiled two new wireless earbud options – the Moto Buds and the Moto Buds+.
Introducing the Edge 50 Family
The most affordable option in the bunch is the Edge 50 Fusion. Powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip, it boasts a large 6.7-inch display with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. It comes with up to 12GB of RAM and a whopping 512GB of storage, ensuring you have plenty of space for apps, games, and photos. The camera system features a 50MP main sensor and a 13MP ultrawide lens, while the front-facing camera clocks in at 32MP. Keeping things running is a large 5,000mAh battery that supports fast charging at 68W.
The Edge 50 Pro, previously launched in India, is now available globally. This phone packs a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip and keeps the same 6.7-inch 144Hz pOLED display as the Fusion. It boasts a massive 5,000mAh battery just like its sibling, but ups the charging game with a whopping 125W wired charging speed and even supports 50W wireless charging. On the back, you’ll find a triple-camera system with a 50MP main sensor, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
The king of the hill is the Edge 50 Ultra. This powerhouse sports the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip and offers up to a staggering 16GB of RAM and a mind-blowing 1TB of storage. The display remains a large 6.7-inch pOLED panel with a super bright 2,500 nits peak brightness. The camera system features a triple-lens setup on the back, with a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide sensor, and a 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. For selfies, you get a high-resolution 50MP front-facing camera. The battery dips slightly to 4,500mAh compared to the other two models, but it still supports the same blazing-fast 125W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Pump Up the Jam with Moto Buds
Alongside the Edge series, Motorola also introduced two new wireless earbud options. The Moto Buds+ are the premium offering, co-developed with audio giant Bose. These earbuds boast Bose-tuned dual drivers with active noise cancellation (ANC) and EQ tuning for an immersive listening experience. They also support Dolby Atmos and Head Tracking technology for a truly cinematic sound experience. The Moto Buds+ come with a triple microphone system for crystal-clear calls and impressive noise suppression. Battery life is rated at up to 8 hours on a single charge, with the case offering an additional 38 hours.
For a more budget-friendly option, the regular Moto Buds offer 12.4mm drivers with active noise cancellation and CrystalTalk AI for improved call quality. These earbuds can last up to 9 hours on a single charge, though details on the charging case capacity haven’t been revealed yet.
With a range of powerful smartphones and feature-packed earbuds, the Motorola Edge 50 series has something to offer everyone. Stay tuned for updates on the availability of the Edge 50 Fusion and Edge 50 Ultra in India.
